What is 100 crepe?
100 crepe is a type of mulberry silk fabric. It has crepe texture both sides and this is the reason why 100 crepe is also called as double silk crepe. It has all characteristics of silk fabric, softness, lightness, good breathability and light pearl luster.
Then, what is the usage of 100 crepe? The most common one is clothing, however, we don’t recommend this type of silk for bedding and sleepwear because it has crepe texture both sides and is not smooth enough for direct skin contact.
One interesting part is 100 crepe can be used for the long sleeves of Beijing opera because of its flowing look and good drape.
Finally, I want to talk about post treatments of 100 crepe. The shrinkage of this fabric is around 10% and thus we suggest preshrinking, watewashing and sandwashing to achieve different effects in clothing.
